I am the granddaughter of Ellis Stacy. I would like add the names of Ellis Stacy's children to the website. Also, all of Raleigh Stacy's children are not listed. How do I add these names?

Hi....this is a great site, very well set out and researched.
I am one Kellie Currie's brother's and Michael & Johnathan Stacey uncle, I am into doing family research myself. I have found this very helpful in adding a bit of the Stacey branch to our tree.

Cheers from OZ

My great-great grandmother was Althea Stacy (Lizzie) married to Benjamin Norville. Their daughter, Mary Jane Norville, was married to Julius Harrison, my great grandparents. I am now residing in Wyoming. Would love to attend a family reunion to get to know more of my Stacy heritage. God Bless everyone.

Hello Dennis!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting all of this wonderful material on our family history.

I am proud to say that my grandfather was Oliver Hicks Stacey. I was so touched to find this website and saw his name credited. It's incredible to think that all of his research that was so near and dear to his heart still lives on today into the 21st century, and has made it online for all Stacey's to view. Thanks to you as well!

I could not be prouder to be a Stacey, and to have had such an incredible man as a grandfather and role model.

And thank you so much for posting his wonderful research for all to see, and continuing the history he began.

I miss him so much, as well as my Grandma, (Maude Elizabeth Webster Stacey (She went by Elizabeth Stacey...whom I'm named after). They were incredible people and I am so happy to see their legacy live on.

On a personal note, I am getting married in less than a year (incredibly, unbeknown to me until tonight, only five days from the day Grandpa and Grandma Stacey got married!) and I have to say that I am sad to be losing the family name I have grown to love so much! The only solace I have, however is that I am an actor in New York City, and will keep Elizabeth Stacey as my stage name. I am glad to know I will be able to keep the Stacey name going in some way!!

I stumbled upon your website by googling M.E. Norville and soon discovered by accident that you have generations upon generations about my very great grandmother Sarah Stacy (Mrs. James Boyd) of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Thanks so much for posting that -I look forward to learning more about the Stacys. They were a blank to me.

As for M.E. Norville, I would like to discuss his ancestry with someone. I am descended from Wiley John Norville of Rutherford County. Neither the Wiley Norville Family Bible record nor his will nor any census records indicate M.E. was a son of Wiley. In fact, M.E. signed Wiley's will, something an heir would not do. I believe after analyzing the earlier census records and tracking the other branches down, that M.E. was likely a son of Wiley's sister Tildy Norville shown in the 1840 Census, then I think by 1850 Tildy has died and M.E. is left in the household with his aunt Permelia Norville Cochran. I'm very interested in discovering any holes in my theory. I've been sourcing the family on my new tree at ancestry but we probably have the same records. I have been up to Pisgah and Brittain before, most recently in September.

About 30 years ago when I first got into genealogy Charles Norville (then in Maryland I think) mailed me some records that I appreciated very much. Is he still interested in genealogy?

I have traced my ancestry back to a Julius Stcey supposedly born abt 1825 in Ohio. He was married to a Aurelia Hawks. They had four children, all boys, including my great-great grandfather, Alexander Owen Stacey, who enlisted in the 12th Iowa during the Civil War, and deserted and changed his name to Henry Alexander Harres. If you can connect any of these people to your tree, please let me know. revrehester@yahoo.com.
