Walter was my first cousin. His mother was Kara Gladys Davis Andrews Fowler of Burlington, NC, where she lived after spending many years in Florida. He served during WWII in the U. S. Navy and later transferred to the U. S. Marines, in the Pacific Islands. Not much is known of his service duty at this writing, but it is known that Walter served as a Medic during part of his Pacific tour with the U . S.Marines in the Pacific Islands. Walter's, war time photo and Pacific Island memorabilia from the war is in the possesion of his first cousin, D. D. Stacey of Glen Allen, VA.
