Leonard served in the Confederate Infantry, Company H, 26th MS. Heenlisted 15
Oct 1861 at age 21. He was wounded in the chest by a musket shot at theBattle
of Cold Harbor, VA, 3 Jun 1863. He received the "Southern Cross of
Honor from the United Daughters of the Confederacy. He was a Baptist
preacher. "Tilda and Lynn" were married 70 years when L. W. died in
1935. They moved from MS to AR between 1883 & 1900. They were listed onthe
Prentiss Co., MS census in 1880 and the Sebastian Co., AR census in 1900.
