Lemuel B. Stacy's grandson, Richard Laverne Stacy told me in an email message that his grandfather, Lemuel had put a "B." in his name because he thought it made his name look better. The "B." was an initial only and had no other meaning.
Oliver Stacy and Sarah moved their family to Whitfield, GA where they lived beside of David Whitener, Oliver's Uncle. Oliver Stacy is found in the 1850 Burke Co., NC Census and in the 1860 and 1870 Census for Whitfield, Ga.
Benjamin Stacy and Francis are found in the Burke County, NC 1850 Census. Henrietta Stacy, Benjamin's sister, is living with them at this time. Also living with Benjamin is James Adams a 21 year old male who is engaged in farming. Benjamin inherited Aaron Stacy's land and when he died there was great confusion over ownership because the Yankees had burned the records of Burke County, North Carolina Courthouse. It was finally resolved after numerous court actions naming beneficiaries.
Robert migrated with his brothers from England, to Berkeley County, NC. In Berkeley Robert married Elizabeth Henin. Berkeley, NC was later known as Perquimans County, a North Carolina Coastal Plains area. By 1716, Robert had moved his family to Chowan County, NC
